In a deeply disturbing development, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested five individuals in connection with the abduction and sale of a two-week-old baby for ₦3 million.

The arrest was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.

💰 Baby Sold for ₦3 Million

According to CSP Hundeyin, the suspects conspired to steal the newborn and sell the infant to an undisclosed buyer. The baby, who was barely two weeks old, was sold for three million naira in what police described as a well-orchestrated trafficking operation.

“We have successfully taken five suspects into custody, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of this criminal network,” Hundeyin said.

👮 Rescue Efforts Underway

Efforts are being made by the command’s anti-human trafficking unit to rescue the stolen baby and identify other potential victims of the syndicate.

The police did not immediately disclose the identities of the suspects or the exact location of the incident, citing ongoing investigations.
