Speculation is rife that embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central may be considering defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC)—a move hinted at by a viral TikTok video showing her enjoying a song praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
🕺 The TikTok Moment
On May 8, 2025, Natasha shared a 15-second video featuring her giggling to a pro-Tinubu track by Kano artist Rarara. The song, “Asiwaju Omo Ologo,” has been closely associated with APC events and President Tinubu’s recent visit to Katsina.
🔁 Defection or Satire?
While supporters are puzzled, some political observers believe the video may be a sarcastic jab at the APC, given Natasha’s ongoing feud with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
🔥 Senate Firestorm
- In February 2025, Natasha disrupted a Senate session over a controversial seating rearrangement, which she alleged was part of Akpabio’s attempts to undermine her.
- She later accused the Senate President of sexual harassment and attempted murder, triggering national uproar.
- The Senate responded with a 6-month suspension, deepening the animosity.
🎙️ Defamation & Blackmail Scandal
The plot thickened when UK-based businesswoman Sandra Duru claimed that Natasha offered her ₦200 million to falsely accuse Akpabio of organ harvesting.
But Nigerian journalist Francess Olisa Ogbonnaya countered Duru’s claims, alleging that Duru tried to recruit her instead to defame Natasha.
📢 Olisa’s Allegations:
- Duru sent her scripts and audio recordings laced with falsehoods about Natasha.
- When Olisa refused to include lies in the voiceover, Duru rejected the audio and went elsewhere.
- Duru allegedly bragged about blackmailing high-profile politicians, including Rochas Okorocha and Hope Uzodinma.
🔍 Olisa concluded:
“Let the police do their job. Sandra is the real puppeteer. If she wants us to release the conversations, I’m ready. There are bigger names she mentioned.”
