Gunmen on Wednesday abducted and killed the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Bako Bala.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Television and Radio, Alhaji Zaidu Bala Kofa Sabuwa, the armed men kidnapped Bala in his hometown, shot him, and abandoned him in a pool of blood.
Alhaji Bako Bala was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, where he unfortunately died on Wednesday from his gunshot wounds.
In a related incident, bandits allegedly kidnapped a person in Matseri village under Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State and shot a young man, who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi.
Efforts to reach the Kebbi State Police Command spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, for comments on the incidents were unsuccessful.
