Plane is forced to land early after dog defecates in first class

The crew tried to get rid of the dirt and unpleasant smell for two hours.

An unpleasant incident involving a dog took place on board an American United Airlines plane. The animal relieved itself in the first-class corridor, forcing the pilots to land early.

In the United States, pets often travel in the passenger cabin – provided they meet certain weight and size requirements. In other countries, pets usually travel in the cargo hold.

An incident occurred on board United Airlines that sparked a debate about whether pets should travel with their owners on planes. The dog relieved itself in the hallway next to the first-class bathroom, forcing the plane to land.

A passenger who witnessed the incident on board described that the flight from Houston to Seattle was diverted to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. There, the crew tried to remove the unpleasant odor from the plane for two hours. Many hours of cleaning were ultimately unsuccessful and the bathroom was put out of use.

United Airlines confirmed to the Daily Mail that the incident had occurred, but no details were provided. Pursuant to Department of Transportation regulations, animals travelling on airlines must meet certain requirements for the transportation of animals.

Despite the controversy, some passengers say dogs should be allowed to fly in airplane cabins. However, this is provided that they are properly trained and behave appropriately.
