The Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, is in mourning following the tragic passing of Andy Ikechukwu

The sad news was confirmed by Seun Oloketuyi, chairman of the Best of Nollywood (BON) awards, who took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking announcement. According to Oloketuyi, Andy Best breathed his last in an Owerri hospital earlier today, March 19, 2024.
While the cause of his demise remains undisclosed to the public, it is speculated that Andy had been battling a prolonged illness.
Andy Best held a significant position in Nollywood as one of its leading producers, and his sudden demise has sent shockwaves throughout the industry.
Throughout his career, he produced several notable films including “My Father’s Cup,” “The Lion of Africa,” “White Poison,” “Pretty Angels,” and “Rain Makers,” among others. Additionally, he served as the CEO of Andy Best Electronics, showcasing his multifaceted contributions to the entertainment sector.
Following his passing, Andy’s remains were laid to rest at the Aladinma Mortuary in Owerri, marking the end of an era for Nollywood and leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
